Babasónicos is an argentinian music band, formed in the early 90's along with others such as Peligrosos Gorriones or Los Brujos.
The vocalist Adrian Rodriguez and the tecladist Diego Tuñón formerly decided to create a "new wave" style, which wouldn't follow the stablished argentinian music. The drummer Diego Castellano (Panza), Adrian's brother Diego Rodriguez (guitarrist and vocalist), Mariano Dominguez as the guitarrist and Gabriel Manelli as the bassist, are the first and last formation of the band. During some years, DJ Peggyn played with them but he finally was "kicked out" because, as Adrian said, "No lo necesitábamos más y lo rajamos" ("He was made redundant and we gave him the sack").
Altough the band has featured many styles along it's various discs, after recording Jessico (2001), Dargelos Inc. decided to forget their past and begin a new career as a typical pop band. Falling into a contradiction with what they thought in their earliest days, Babasonicos turned into a mass-mediatic band.
Their last record, Infame, is a clear try to make money at whatever it may cost.
